Cap'n Jacks Party

» Read similar stories filed under:

I used to live within a few blocks of this restaurant. When they had their outdoor entertainment, it would keep people (some that had to go to work the next day) awake until 2:00 in the a.m.; then we had to put up with the drunks hot rodding down residential streets, making all kinds of noise, etc.......
When I called to complain to the restaurant, they were quick to (rudely) say that if I didn't like it, I should contact my City Council to complain, and that they would keep on partying until the permit expired.
Hopefully, someone from the City Council will see this, and stop to consider what the non-partying residents of the area think about the permit.??

So what did you expect when you decided to purchase a house next to a bar/restaurant? That's like buying a house next to the airport and then complaining about the endless noise.

I've heard the argument about "it hurting resale value" of houses...Really? Than you probably benefitted from that when you decided to purchase a home there and nevermind all of the homes that benefit in value from having a restaurant on the lake! It was your decision.

I've been following this saga since the get-go and the pissing and moaning by the neighbors is so exaggerated it's becoming a joke!

I'm not saying that there are not problems that should probably be addressed, but I would like to suggest that crying wolf everytime somone hears a noise in the neighborhood does not help.

I guess what, I find trash in my yard and have loud motorcycles in my neighborhood too and I live nowhere near Captain Jack's.

Maybe the police could have helped out...Afterall...there is a noise ordinance law for in the mornings...such as no mowing before 9:00 am...The police can give them warnings and if not, ticketed.. I believe FREDDIES owes an OLD HIPPIE an apollogy for being rude. And the police should be sitting on the end of the road with breath tests being there is no outlet. maybe that will quiet them down.
