A favorite and fun event is Ladies Night Out. This year’s theme is “Celebrate: It’s Ladies Night Out.”Sandi FleckSandi

The event is set for Thursday, Sept. 11, from checking in at 5:30 p.m. at the Chamber office to having drawings at the Prior Lake VFW starting at 8:30 p.m. We have a lot of fun activities planned from tote bags, wearing red, white and blue, shopping discounts to lots of laughter, drawings and many more things to do.  Get in the spirit and celebrate by wearing your red, white and blue. We hope to see you in downtown Prior Lake on Sept. 11.  Registration is required. The cost is $10 per person; also an option for participants is a red-colored T-shirt that says “Freedom Is…” available for an extra $5 per person.

Fall Community Fest is set for Monday, Sept. 15, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Prior Lake High School. This event is co-sponsored by the Prior Lake-Savage Community Education Services and Savage Chamber. Save the date for this event. We have a lot of new businesses participating, so come out and check out the 2008 Fall Community Fest.

A new event is being planned for Thursday, Oct. 23 called “All Things Food and More.” This new event will be at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. We have a lot of vendors that feature food or items that go with food and many other businesses in the “and more” category. Our featured entertainment speaker is Marjorie Johnson, author of “Blue Ribbon Baking” and a regular on Jay Leno.  Tickets to this new event are $10 and are available at the Chamber office or online.

Thank you

The Prior Lake Chamber would like to tell everyone thanks for coming out and supporting Lakefront Days 2008 - Legacy of the Lake. We had a week of beautiful weather. What a wonderful town we live in, because there were so many people watching and participating in the parades, cruises, Laker Idol, business expo/wine tasting, game night, Canine Carnival, food tent, entertainment tent and all the other great events we host. Thank you to all the residents, and new and old friends, and a huge thank you to the park maintenance employees of the city of Prior Lake; these employees made the park sparkle every day. Another thank you goes to the Prior Lake Police Department, which assists in the Lakefront Days events by keeping our residents and participants safe.

If you have comments about Lakefront Days, please forward your suggestions, concerns or accolades to sandi@priorlakechamber.com. The Chamber will forward your comments to the appropriate committee. As always, we are looking for committee members for 2009; you may give us a call if you are interested.
