The Prior Lake man who hit a Shakopee boy on his bike, fatally injuring him, is back in jail for breaking probation-- this time for
drugs.
Randal Hennes, 40, was arrested by Southwest Metro Drug Task Force Officers yesterday and is now jailed on suspicion of two counts of fifth-degree possession of crack cocaine and meth. He is to appear in court Friday morning.
Hennes was in jail last week for breaking probation by consuming alcohol.
Hennes is charged with a DWI and fleeing the scene of the July 7
accident, which occurred at the corner of Marschall Road and 17th
Avenue. Nicholas Hagadorn, 11, was hit while crossing the road
illegally on his bicycle and he died a few days later.
Hennes,
who had two previous convictions for drunken driving, was initially
charged with criminal vehicular injury, but the charge was amended when
his blood-alcohol content was found to be 0.07 percent, below the 0.08
considered to be legally drunk in Minnesota.
