Prior Lake-Savage area schools, in cooperation with Shakopee and Jordan school districts, are looking for parent and community volunteers to serve on a joint planning council that will focus on providing supportive programming and integrating minority students into the school systems.
Minority representation is especially encouraged. The council will review the three school district’s current policies and programs and develop recommendations to improve support and opportunities for minority students in these districts.
The council will meet six to eight times in the evenings during the next five months. The first meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools’ District Office.
Interested volunteers should contact the school district’s communication office
by Wednesday, Sept. 3, at (952) 226-0014 or kmussman@priorlake-savage.k12.mn.us and
note their interest in representing Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools.
The School Board will appoint members based on random selection to provide
balanced representation.
