Crossroads Church is moving out of town.

The current building, 6880 Boudin St., Prior Lake, has been sold to EFH Realty Advisors and likely will be demolished to make way for some type of new development, said the church’s lead pastor, Rev. Craig Johnson.

The church is finalizing the purchase of a building on Burnsville Parkway in Burnsville to accommodate its expanding membership, Johnson said.

“We’ve outgrown our facilities. We actually should have been moving over a year ago,” he said.

Average Sunday attendance has been upward of 400 members, he added.

Church leaders wanted to stay in Prior Lake and tried to find a site in town, Johnson said, but high land prices put that goal out of reach.

He said he doesn’t think the move to Burnsville will cause the church to lose members. “It’s exactly 3.4 miles from driveway to driveway, from the current church to the new one,” he said. “We’re excited. We’re a growing church.”

Johnson expects the church to make the move by early September.
