Police are investigating a threat administrators at Prior Lake High School received by e-mail Tuesday morning that warned of an incident at the school for Thursday morning (Nov. 20).
Late Tuesday afternoon, a bomb threat to the school was discovered for today (Nov. 19).
Minnesota law enforcement agencies teamed up with the Humane Society of the United States on Monday, Nov. 17 to combat cockfighting and dog fighting.
“Cockfighting and dog fighting are horribly cruel blood sports that hurt not only the animals involved, but the communities in which they exist,” said Jill Fritz, Minnesota state director for The Humane Society of the United States.
The Prior Lake Police Department responded to the following incidents between Nov. 5 and 12. This is not a comprehensive list of all incidents to which the department responded.

On Wednesday morning, Ruth Anne Maddox was supposed to write the news, not make the headlines.

Prior Lake police found the body of a 45-year-old Prior Lake woman in the 16400 block of Timber Crest Drive at 3:17 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The body was identified as Ruth Anne Maddox, a features and schools reporter with Southwest Newspapers.
The Prior Lake Police Department responded to the following incidents between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5. This is not a comprehensive list of all incidents to which the department responded.

Prior Lake High School was put on “heightened awareness” for a couple of hours on Oct. 31, as police conducted an investigation into ongoing threats between an estranged married couple at a home adjacent to the school.
As neighborhoods are sure to be full of little ghosts and goblins tonight, make sure to take safety precautions to keep trick or treating from becoming a nightmare.
